Service desk
Employees at the service desk on the 2nd floor provide general service and handle requests received by phone or email. At the service desk, you can register books for loan and return, order materials, and receive various instructions and assistance. The e-mail address for the lending service is utlan@landsbokasafn.is
Information service employees are on duty at the service desk from 8 am to 4 pm every weekday. They provide information about sources in individual fields of study, reference registration, and assist with source searches, as well as handling requests received via online chat. The information service also provides a variety of education and presentations . The information service email address is upplys@landsbokasafn.is
Open workspace for groups
On the 2nd floor there are 16 group work tables for small and large groups. In the National Library, emphasis is placed on ensuring the working peace of visitors and defining acoustics in individual areas. The 2nd floor is a "talking floor", which means that visitors are allowed to chat and use phones. Literature on the 2nd floor includes handbooks and reference books for use on site.
Computers and Internet
Opposite the service desk: Access to the Internet and word processing programs.
The National and University Library has a wireless network (LBS-HotSpot) that everyone can connect to with their own laptop/smart device.
Printing and photocopying
General museum visitors can print from the museum's computers to a printer at the service desk. Printed documents are handed out at the loan processing desk.
A photocopier is on the 2nd floor of the building.
