Article Processing Charges (APC)
Article Processing Charges (APCs) are fees that publishers charge authors for publishing articles in open access. These fees vary by publisher. Publication is either in a subscription journal, in which case the article in question is in open access, but other articles in the journal may be in closed access ( hybrid gold access ) or in a journal that is entirely in open access. All publishers allow publication of manuscripts ( pre-print or post-print ) in repositories such as Opin vísindi , but with varying publication delays ( see more ). Information on the publication policies of individual journals, publication delays and which versions of articles can be stored in repositories is available from SherpaRomeo .
