Library cards are issued at the service desk on the 2nd floor upon presentation of photo ID and social security number. Library cards are included in the tuition fees for students at the University of Iceland, UI employees receive cards free of charge, while others pay an annual fee according to the library service fee schedule . International students at the University of Iceland must complete a request for a library card.
Library cards are issued to individuals and the cardholder is fully responsible for the materials they borrow. If library materials are lost or damaged in the borrower's custody, they must pay the value of the materials. For more information, contact utlan@landsbokasafn.is or call 525 5681.
