The midwife association has published the magazine Ljósmæðrabladid continuously since 1922. It is considered to be the oldest women's magazine in Iceland that is still in issue. Today, the magazine is a peer-reviewed journal and is published twice a year. The current editor is Ólöf Ásta Ólafsdóttir.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Icelandic Association of Midwives, an exhibition was recently opened in the Library. The Midwife Association of Iceland is presenting the exhibition in co-operation with the Women's History Archives and the National and University Library of Iceland.
