Facilities

The National and University Library (Þjóðarbókhlaða) offers first class facilities for studies and research as well as easy access to library materials, both in electronic and printed form. The library operations are on four levels. Here we provide information on facilities and collections on each level.

Library café area

The Library café area is located on the 2nd floor of the library (Þjóðarbókhlaða). The area seats about 65 people.

Lecture Hall

The Lecture Hall offers technology and facilities to hold lectures and meetings and there are 80 seats. Information on renting prices are listed in charges and fees.

Group rooms

On the booking website of the Library one can book a room on the 3rd and 4th floor. Rooms seat 6-10 people.

Study rooms

On 3rd and 4th floor there are 26 study rooms which are first and foremost intended for scholars, students working on advanced degrees and others that are working on specific projects and need to use the Library material for this purpose.

Lockers

There are 150 lockers for use by guests to store their working documents. Keys are delivered at the service desk at the 2nd floor against showing a library card and payment of security deposit.

Study facilities

The National and University Library of Iceland offers first class working facilities. An effort is made to meet different students´needs with diverse working facilities.
