Jón Múli Árnason:

Jón Múli Árnason (1921-2002) was nationally known for his work as a radio broadcaster and songwriter. Most of Jón Múli's songs were composed for the musicals he wrote with his brother Jónas Árnason: Deleríum Búbónis (1959), Rjúkandi ráð (1959), Allra meira bót (1961) and Járnhausinn (1965). Jón Múli was a great jazz enthusiast and taught jazz history, but his songwriting was first and foremost theater music. However, many of his songs have found their way onto the records of jazz musicians, and the waltz "Vikivaki" is the best known of them. Rúnar Georgsson played the flute brilliantly when this song was first recorded with Magnús Ingimarsson's band, but Magnús has the honor of an elaborate piano arrangement of this song which Jón Múli added to the National Theater's 10th anniversary staging of Deleríum Búbónis in 1968.
