The Institute of History at the University of Iceland is celebrating its 50th anniversary in the year 2021. On the occasion of the anniversary, an exhibition will be opened in the National Library on Thursday 2 September on the history of the institution and its activities. The exhibition sheds light on the history of the Institute of History, research and teaching in history for half a century. The exhibition includes numerous photographs from the Institute of History's Archives, the University of Iceland collection of photographs. and from others. The exhibition also includes videos from the RÚV collection and the University of Iceland Archives, as well as audio recordings from the collection of the Oral History Center. The exhibition is open until the end of November 2021. The exhibition is a collaborative project between the Institute of History at the University of Iceland and the National and University Library of Iceland.
