Journals and Newspapers

The library has access to a number of magazines and newspapers in printed and electronic versions. The library receives foreign magazines in various fields of study on subscription, in addition to receiving all printed Icelandic magazines and newspapers on deposit as a national library. This applies to newsletters, annuals, school newspapers and newspapers. Newspapers and magazines in print can be accessed on the 3rd floor of the National Library and in the Icelandic Collection on the 1st floor. Electronic journals in special subscription to the library and the University of Iceland are only accessible on the university network. A number of Icelandic newspapers and journals are accessible in digital reproduction on the website timarit.is. Newspapers and journals are not loaned out.
