The 13th International Open Access Week was held 19-25 October 2020. The theme this year was Open with Purpose: Taking Action to Build Structural Equity and Inclusion. The University libraries in Iceland in collaboration published articles regarding open access during the OA week. The Library shared those articles on its website daily.

Sigurgeir Finnsson, the Project manager for Open access at the National and University Library of Iceland wrote the article Gulur, gylltur, grænn og brons about the complex models of open access publishing.
