The National Theater of Iceland is currently staging a play on the life of artist Ásta Sigurðardóttir (1930–1971). Among her artistic works are playing cards that she drew in 1960–1963. These cards appear in the play but the originals are preserved at the Manuscript Collection of the library among other material from Ásta´s possession (Lbs 300 NF). These beautifully illustrated cards are now on display on the first floor of the library.
