The Library preserves most Icelandic material that has been published on the web. All Icelandic domains are harvested several times a year, and more frequent harvests are done for changeable and newsworthy material. The material can be accessed from the webpage vefsafn.is

The preservation of web-material is an international project and the National Library is an active partner in it. The cooperation takes place through several cooperative projects and the participation of the Library is through the consortium called: International Internet Preservation Consortium.
