Acquisitions

The Manuscript Collection collects manuscripts and private archives (letters, diaries, minutes of meetings and other documents from individuals and societies). Documents from governmental or state institutions are not accepted, and such donations are referred to the National Archives or local government archival collections. Before documents are delivered to the Manuscript Collection, it is advised to contact the staff of the Department (handrit (hja) landsbokasafn.is) to receive guidance on the form of delivery of private archives.
