The Swedish Special Collection

The Swedish Special Collection is based on two donations from the Swedish Parliament; the first one was in 1930 on the occasion of 1000th anniversary of the Icelandic Parliament, and then in 1974 when the 1100 anniversary of settlement in Iceland was celebrated. The collection contains mainly Swedish books that are related to Iceland as well as Swedish literature and works on Swedish cultural history.

On December 1, 1994 the National and University Library received the family history called Hallwylska samlingen, in 67 volumes as a donation from the Nordic House.
